About

Hi! I’m Shirin, a freelance seamstress, designer, and sewing instructor based in Corpus Christi.

Originally from Montreal, one of North America’s most influential fashion hubs, I learned to sew from seasoned seamstresses and was surrounded by great design, boutique ateliers, and working artists. I lived near the garment district, where I loved buying surplus fabrics from high-end brands to create my own garments. That early exposure shaped the way I work today: detail-driven, quality-focused, and always exploring new approaches to the craft.

During that time, I earned a degree in Communication Studies from Concordia University. I later worked in online marketing and design, experiences that now give me a uniquely modern and creative edge in my sewing practice.

I’ve been sewing for more than 15 years and continuously update myself with current techniques and industry standards. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with creative ways to integrate LED technology into garments.

Today, I design digital sewing patterns for home sewists, post sewing tutorials on YouTube, and teach in-person classes at the Art Center of Corpus Christi.

I also provide alteration support including hems and zippers to bridal and formalwear adjustments both as a subcontractor and for private clients on a case-by-case basis.

Working with me means clear communication, dependable turnarounds, and workmanship you can trust.

When I’m not sewing, I’m a homeschooling mom, an electronic musician, and an advocate for better cycling infrastructure in Corpus Christi.
